Rudy - Say It Aint So

The Moose offers some advice to a man he admires.

The Moose is an independent mammal. Although he is closer to the donkey, there are pachyderms he continues to admire. For example, Rudy Giuliani is a Republican that has earned the Moose's seal of approval. Mayor Giuliani admirably transformed and revived New York City. He courageously led the city and inspired the nation after 9/11. And like the Moose, he is a Yankees fan (as an aside, finally, we are not burdened with the Red Sox's tedious claims to victim hood).

Lately though, Hizzhonor has gone overboard in his attempt to prove his obsequiousness to the Bushies. The Moose appreciates that party loyalty occasionally dictates undertaking distasteful tasks. But, Giuliani certainly went over the line this morning on the Today Show by blaming the troops for the disappearing Iraqi munitions, "No matter how you try to blame it on the president, the actual responsibility for it really would be for the troops that were there. Did they search carefully enough - didn't they search carefully enough?''

The Moose recognizes that the President is in quite a fix at the moment. But, Mr. Mayor, to paraphrase Bush's favorite JFK - doesn't party loyalty sometimes ask too much?
