The Moose wishes to send his friends in the press a gentle reminder.
Now the Elephant controls all levers of power in Washington there will be no genuine oversight on the Administration. Of course, that has been the case for the last three years - no Congressional oversight and uneven scrutiny from the media. The press has even given up demanding press conferrences from this President. The Moose acknowledges that the Administration has not been exactly forthcoming with information or access. Transparency is to the Bushies what garlic is to vampires.
With conservative Republican margins strengthened and hubris riding high in the G.O.P. saddle, we will need the fourth estate as never before to serve as the public's watchdog. Watchdogs yes, lapdogs, no!
