Opposition Leader

The Moose observes that the donkey has discovered his Moses.

Many have wondered - who is going to be the galvanizing leader of the Democrats who will lead them into the promised land? Who is the individual who can mastermind a strategy to bring the donkey out of the wilderness? Who is the clear minded visionary who can develop a slogan that will unite the Democrats to smite the Republicans.

This week, Time Magazine revealed the identity of that Moses like figure who can bring an end to corrupt Republican control over Congress.

Is it Howard Dean? No.

Is it Nancy Pelosi? No.

Is it Harry Reid? No, again!

So, who, wise antlered one is the Opposition Leader?

It is none other than - NEWT GINGRICH.

Time Magazine,

"Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, who masterminded the 1994 elections that brought Republicans to power on promises of revolutionizing the way Washington is run, told TIME that his party has so bungled the job of governing that the best campaign slogan for Democrats today could be boiled down to just two words: "Had enough?"

Print the bumper stickers and ready the radio and TV ads! Who would have thought that the Republican Moses would become the Democratic Moses! And Passover is coming to remind the donkey of the day of the liberation day that may soon arrive.

Of course, Brother Newt has a vested interest in seeing to it that the donkey prevails in November. On the ashes of the GOP defeat, Newt will begin his resurrection from the political graveyard (the Moose apologizes for the religious mixed metaphors, although it is in the Judeo-Christian tradition).

Newt is one cagy fellow. This is his moment of opportunity. The Republican coalition is fraying. The base of the party is seething with discontent. Newt realizes that the best thing that could happen to the GOP for the long term would be to unburden itself of the corrupt House. And to that end, he offered an invaluable in-kind contribution to the Democrats.

Had enough? Indeed.
