The Moose avers that Ned needs a history lesson.
It is sad to view the spectacle of a candidate embarrassing himself and wasting a portion of his fortune. But, that is exactly what is happening to the darling of the nutroots, Negative Ned Lamont.
Ned's latest ploy is to liken Joe to Nixon. What's next? Ned declares that Joe is really the reincarnation of Joe McCarthy? Oh, silly Moose - it is Lamont who is engaged in the politics of personal destruction.
Maybe, the Moose is unfair. Perhaps, Mr. Lamont is not familiar with the history of his party. You see, Ned, there were once Democrats such as Harry Truman, John F. Kennedy and Scoop Jackson who were tough on national security. If fact, today, the Moose's favorite Kerrey (pun intended) , former Senator and Medal of Honor recipient, Bob Kerrey will appear with Joe.
It is the Truman, JFK and Scoop tradition that Joe represents in this race. That is why security Democrats, Republicans and Independents are drawn to the Lieberman campaign.
The Moose just has one question for his friends in the nutroots. Wouldn't Ned's fortune be better spent in distributing it to Democrats in close races across the country?
Don't count on it. Negative Ned would rather waste the money in attempting to smear a good man. -- |
